The day before the Hairdresser
Hibernation is key,
Neither strategic part, nor pony tail
Can make it look pretty.
It has gone beyond the ‘wear a hat’ stage
staying inside I cannot budge,
I cannot face the world like this
No miracles from the fudge.
Its wispy, two toned, nothing is working
My overall feeling is drab,
Fast forward to exiting the salon tomorrow
When I’ll be feeling fab!
My posture will change from hunched to tall
I will walk with longer strides
I’ll  start pouting during conversations
While flicking it seductively to the side
Before I drive off in my car,
I’ll glimpse it in the rearview
A smug look will come upon my face
I will feel so Sharni and new!
Oh what is it about a new hairdo
That can make or break your day?
I wish I could fast forward until tomorrow
When I’ll be flicking all the way.

Love it! I’m growing my hair out at the moment, after having it really short for a few years, so I’ve had ‘Good Hair Day Eve’ for the last year.
you alway’s put a smile on my face….so real.
Hope you have a great day tomorrow and feel like u again.
ohhh…. I LOVE it, wish i could write poems..
she makes my hair colour yellow,
because she thinks it’s caramelo!
(seriously, I’m going to murder her)
Love it Sharni!!! Ironically my hair is at it’s absolute worse just when I decide I need a hair cut and can only get an appointment in 4 weeks time, then, the day before the long awaited cut, my hair does a mean trick and gets all nice again and I’m thinking “should I cancel and save my zillion bucks and 2 hours?”
Enjoy! Hope you have something nice to do with the new ‘do!!!
it is SO true that you have a good hair day the day that you are getting it done. What is with that??
Hey hope its not the 300 bucks place you mentioned in the big smoke?! And that you take a book in case you need a polite distraction!
What is it about hair that can make us feel new again? I have my appt next weekend. Counting the days…
Scarily true!
