Seong Yoon Lee

I am an avid fan of Kathy from Lessons from the Monk I Married.
I have gained a lot from the lessons she has learnt from her husband, the Former Monk. But until recently he seemed to be an elusive character that existed only in Kathy’s blog posts.
You can imagine my delight when I received a comment from him on my “Life was meant to be easy” story.
Voila! That classifies him as a reader! So this week Seong Yoon Lee is  reader of the week!
Let me introduce you :

Who is Seong Yoon Lee?

I am like the wind.
The wind touches everything in forest, but it flows its own way.
I was born in Korea and educated in a monastery, I have traveled extensively around the world experiencing meditation, yoga and so many other beautiful things . But mostly I love to learn and grow, expand and flow.

Where do you live and what is so special about it?

I live in Seattle,USA. I think it’s one of the most beautiful and harmonious cities. Lots of trees, oceans, lakes. Technology here is amazing and there are lots of yoga centres and awesome people. It is an evolving city with people and nature.
Recently I opened a yoga studio with my friend and I want to see it grow with more happy people using our service.

What does “The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it is greener where you water it” mean to you?

I think it’s love. Love makes everything grow. But we also  need our own clarity so that Grass can grow right way.

What is it about Yoga that you love?

Yoga has so much beauty in it. It develops our awareness through the right stretching and breathing. Through that process we can open our self on a deeper level so that we become happy and can blossom. Yoga is that inner expansion with great love.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were younger?

I learn so many things from my own mistakes and exploring. We need to live life fully and not be afraid to make mistakes. We learn from them and evolve. I’m grateful that I have been through so many different life experiences from a small boy in a fishing town in Korea to teaching Yoga at Microsoft and Yoon’s Yoga bliss!
Without mistakes, without exploring,I will not be here as I am.  So Live fully.

Finish this sentence…. Life was meant to be

Awesome!!!
