Reader Ellen also asks:
Cowboy, do you really sleep in a swag?
Cowboy says: I have slept in a swag, I own a swag -Â one of my first jobs when I was working in Moree was droving sheep on the road and it involved camping out.
I enjoyed it.
Because you were camping out you had to let the sheep out in the morning and in at night and keep an eye on them during the day – camping out was good fun. There were Sub-artesian bores on the stock route, where water that flows under the ground really deep comes out of the ground hot – so we would camp next to these and we’d jump in there and have a bath!
We’d park the Landcruiser next to the tank so we could climb in!
Haven’t slept in the swag much lately, but I do own one and enjoy camping out.
