I Had A Dream

PART 6

You have met the cast,  the spiritual home, the hairdresser, the makeup artist — but wait …

There is more!

Just call me Big Sharnanigans! (well don’t actually)

I told you my ambition for this weekend was HUGE!

(and I must confess after putting this together with little sleep and a mighty active 18 month old son I am still recuperating)

So now it is time to reveal what the project was and how with the leap of faith shown by some very kind and supportive fantastic Australian businesses and some willing bloggers and photographers– my dream became a reality.

Just like MLK - I had a DREAM!!!

When it dawned on me I had blogging and photographer friends coming to town around the time Sex and the City 2 hit the big screen … a little fantasy started taking shape in my mind …

What if we put together a”Sex & The Country” photo shoot in the OHT?

What if I could show my readers the One Horse Town as captured by professional photographers, celebrate meeting online friends, AND be virtually styled into some gorgeous fashions?

I saw an opportunity to put online new-age friendship on a pedestal  showing that with a little grass watering attitude you can have an amazing time no matter where you live.

I sent an email to the very warm and helpful Nikki Parkinson-Hubbard from the fantastic website Styling You.

You might recall she gave me a virtual styling a little while back.

I wanted to see what she thought about the idea and if she could help me generate some fashion for the shoot.

Her supportive and grass watering nature didn’t surprise me – Nikki was straight on-board enthusiastic about my idea and eager to help.

Together, we put together a proposal – and Nikki kindly sent it off to some of her fashion contacts.

You can imagine my absolute delight when Nikki wrote back to me letting me know that many designers / labels jumped on-board!

Clothes started arriving in the OHT – the dream was a GOER!

Without further ado I would like to shine an enormous light on the following businesses who were more than happy to support the project in the way of clothing donation / loans.

To each and everyone of you – thanks so much for allowing us to water our grass in the OHT — the results of our excellent weekend will be showcased REALLY soon.

Please show some love to the following fashion houses:

Verily

- What can I say. Verily clothing is stylish and practical!!!

Verily struck a particular chord with me and I have since gone on to wear the outfits in my everyday life. Highly recommended clothing for the stay at home Mama who wants to regain sense of style!

Leonie has been a fantastic support to Sharnanigans and many of the women who make the clothing work from properties in Rural Australia – a great sister to support!

Katiebo Jewellery & Accessories

- the lovely Kate Fryer from Katiebo , like me went from being a city girl to a country girl.

Katie  jumped at the opportunity to sparkle up the OHT with her amazing range of bling that is all so affordable and compliment fetching (thanks Kate, I literally stopped traffic in a pair of your earrings at the pedestrian crossing – friend yelled out “Love your earrings Sharni!” True story.)

Katiebo  has a special offer ONLY for Sharnanigans readers.

Spend $40 and she will add a pair of silver hoop earrings valued at $14.99 AND give you free postage – just enter code word – SHARNANIGANS in the checkout before July 30!

wYse Bodywear -

Designed with easy elegance and casual chic in mind, wYse combines innovative design and natural fibres to offer garments that epitomise style and comfort.

Made from modal, a natural timber fibre touted as the new wonder fabric of the design world, wYse has gained a reputation for releasing stylish basics that carry you from daytime urbanity to evening sophistication.

Oh indeed – I can vouch for this – beautiful.

Pipduck

– Hello!

THE most gorgeous pair of gumboots I have ever seen.

The Pari Gumboots I wore in the photoshoot are boots I can wear beyond the paddock. Cannot say enough about these gumboots – they have so many cool boots to choose from – check them out and get a pair – I completely recommend!

MiMi First

– offers women quality fashion essentials.

The easy care wardrobe basics are available for re-order forever and always. MiMi FiRST is not dictated by seasonal trends, providing the client with functional styles which are feminine and have a reliable fit.

The collection is updated with the introduction of new colours and styles while the original collection will always remain.

Hayven – the home of beautiful things, home-wares, jewellery, gifts, clothing, shoes based in the OHT itself but soon to be launched online – watch this space for an upcoming giveaway from the BEAUTIFUL Hayven.

Princess Chic When I asked a friend if she could recommend a place where I would find shoes suitable for a Sex & the Country photoshoot – she said “You MUST visit Princess Chic, shoes are their religion” I looked there and I have NEVER looked back. These shoes helped us to channel our inner Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte — they even tailor make shoes for you – a MUST VISIT for your next pair of killer heels.

Violet & I - Hello stunning. This designer is one to watch. This designer is one you will say Oh my! I first read about her on Sharnanigans and now she is HUGE. Mark my words. Carrie Bradshaw like tutus, beautiful, beautiful pieces – showcased in the upcoming shoot by Tania and Kathryn.

I have so much gratitude to so many generous, grass watering, supportive people right now and I’d like to thank each and every one of you for keeping the dream alive and proving that life really is limited only by your ability to dream.

The results of the photoshoot coming soon…

Gorgeous, stunning, beautiful! What a fantastic idea this was Sharni, and all the beautiful clothes and bling we got to wear was a dream come true. I have never felt so stylish and may have actually turned this cowgirl to channel her inner Samantha!
The bling alone made me just feel so glam, and then we slid on the killer heels! Wow, they were to die for and truly looked like we raided the Sex and the City wardrobe department!!
