Happy Birthday Aunty Lyn!

Today is the birthday of a very special person in my life.

The person who gifted me with my life philosophy: The Grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it’

Aunty Lyn!

Aunty Lyn has been so instrumental in the path my life has taken, since my early twenties it has been her advice, perspective, sense of humor and lovable-ness that has helped guide me to a place that I find myself in now, one of happiness.

One where every day I remind myself to water my grass.

Throughout the ups and downs of my adult life, Aunty Lyn has always been there to give me fresh ideas and perspective and a laugh when I needed it.

She is one of the funniest, brilliant, caring, thoughtful ‘people person’ I know.

Sometimes I think she is the only one that does not know this!

When I moved to Sydney I stayed with her in a gorgeous apartment opposite Bondi Beach, which she then moved out of so I could take up residence.

HELLO.

As a country girl fresh to Sydney living in this location fuelled inspiration in me like you would never believe.

I made new friends, got a great job and suddenly life opened up in a way I never would have imagined.

None of this would have been possible without her support.

She was there for me while romances ended, and so at the time, I thought had my life.

She was always there for a coffee and a walk, even a few bottles of wine – always when I needed it. EVEN when said bottles of wine gave her a rotten hangover she wanted to kill me for!

I miss her greatly and wish I could live a little nearer to her.

Why?

Because she has been my hero since forever. Hanging out in Sydney with her was always a cack.

One of my funniest memories was taking a bus with her through Bondi and we were on the backseat crammed between heaps of other people and she suddenly starts saying to me ” So are you all ready for your performance tonight?”

“Performance?” I ask, not knowing where she is going with this

“Your lapdance, are you going to wear the new g-string?”

“Yeah, I think so” I say “The leather one you mean?”

As you can see we are both mad and went on with this crazy line of conversation crammed on a bus full of trendies downtown Bondi Beach. We didn’t get far before we both broke into absolute hysterics.

We are on the same wavelength, we think a lot, at times for good at times to our own detriment – but through this crazy gift of life I can’t tell you how happy I am to have this amazing woman in my life.

I can hardly wait to see her again THIS WEEKEND WOOHOO so we can laugh, be a little mad, analyse the world and do what we do best – water our grass together!

I love you Aunty Lyn!

Thanks for everything and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
