Cowboy, Monte and I waved goodbye to the OHT on Friday and headed for the hills.
Literally.
We made our way to Tumbarumba to celebrate Cowboy’s Dad’s 70th birthday.
Dave’s sister Helen her husband Dan and kids Amelia, Connor and Jackson played hosts for the weekend.

Hosts for the weekend: Helen in green and Dan seated (also pictured Andrew chef extrordinaire and family friend Marilyn)
They had recently moved into former bed and breakfast “Sunnyside” a glorious old-house set upon beautiful green luscious hills drizzled with cows, sheep, ducks and wild flowers – oh and a vineyard.
4Upon arrival we were shown to our bedroom with accompanying ensuite and SPA!
Had we died and gone to Hilly Heaven?
Dave’s parents, sister Sharon and partner Andrew also made the trip, as did some cousins.
Friends of Helen and Dan’s came around with freshly home cooked bread, there was homegrown wine on offer in unlimited amounts.
Great company, perfect scenery… lots of people for Monte to play with…
Hello! What a perfect long weekend!
We enjoyed a fantastic celebration for Cowboy’s Dad, who was the apple of Monte’s eye.
Two of the nights we were there Andrew and Dan cooked up Indian / Thai feast for us all.
I literally thought I had died. Two of my favorites cooked to perfection.
We had fun exploring the farm surrounding gorgeous Sunnyside. It was relaxing and inspiring.
In the evenings sitting on the verandah I just couldn’t turn off the non-stop soundtrack of “this is Australia!”
The long weekend was truly what the Doctor ordered.
All the way home, the Cowboy and I started making plans, talked about our dreams and we got excited.
Seeing things from the Sunny Side really is the secret to life!
Thanks to the Cowboy’s family for being the perfect hosts!
