Dear Mia Freedman

Hi Mia and the Mamamia team,

I sent you an email yesterday but thought a video might be more useful for you, and a little more personal.

I shot this after running this morning, my hair is looking like a dog’s breakfast (big-time, a little embarrassed!) and you will notice flies dance around my face like it’s 1999.

Sometimes I film the sky instead of my head.

Also, there are pauses where I can’t find the right words. Oh and then there is the wind element… just turn it up a notch so you can hear.

But none of that is relevant.

This is me, keeping it real – raising money and awareness for the Afghan Women’s Writers Project.

I would love it if through the power of your website you could give some space to my campaign and help me get the support of your readers to help women much less fortunate then ourselves, have a voice.

This one is so important for the sisterhood!!!

I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about the AWWP, or my personal campaign.

I hope to hear from you really soon

Yours Sincerely,

Sharnanigans x

Great cause Sharni and fabulous that you are supporting it in such an inspiring way. I am full of admiration for you and you have my pledge. I think it’s important for women writers who have the luxury of freedom to express themselves openly to support other women without the same opportunities. It goes without saying that Mia would not be able to express her opinions and the visitors to her blog would not be able to agree, disagree and comment with complete freedom if she and they were born into similar circumstances to those of the Afghan women. So if you are reading this Mia please support Sharni’s efforts to support the Afghan women- and spread the word to all your readers!
