Spectacularly Green – Our Next Chapter

Watering in Progress

Hiya all, this isn’t so much a blog-post more a letter to everyone who is interested to know, that Cowboy, Monte and I have successfully left the OHT and moved to another.

This OHT is only 10kms from our new little city and after a week of sheer agony including but not limited to the following:

Gastro, Rain, PMS, Anxiety, Childcare Sadness, Comfort Zone removal, internet problems, 2 hospital visits, I am happy to report we have come  out the other side smiling!

My first day of work was filled with unstoppable anxiety (all my omming and affirmations had nothing on this beast), particularly as I dropped Monte off to childcare and he clung to me  like crazy screaming “Don’t go Mum! ” I cried all the way to my first day of work, and felt shell-shocked and overwhelmed all day.

At the end of it, Monte and I emotionally reunited and he told me “Mummy, you are my best friend’

Hello, like I needed another prompt for an emotional outburst!!

Happily, day two and three were fantastic. I felt really comfortable with my new, lovely workmates and realised that readjusting to the adult world and working was not as hard as I thought. I really enjoyed it actually!

Cowboy is still looking for work, and it will all work out. Our neighbours/landlords are the nicest people placed on this Earth and have shown us the kindest hospitality and have helped us no-end setting up.

Thanks Nat and Gav so much!! We are living on their farm, surrounded by grapevines. It is gorgeous, and serene. Which is handy for when I yell “Serenity Now!” on a daily basis.

Gav took Monte for a whirl on his tractor and thus has been secured in Monte’s mind as the best bloke ever. (aside from Pops and Dad).

We are all happy, this gorgeous house feels like home already, the dogs are smiling, there are friendly faces around and it just feels like we have arrived where we are meant to be.

I am really excited about this chapter.

I truly believe that change is always a great thing, but by God it is easy to forget when you are neck-deep in it!

I wanted to put this in writing heaven forbid I face another week like our previous and forget that THINGS IMPROVE.

I believe we have to go through a period of complete discomfort, anxiety and doubt while stepping out of the Comfort Zone. This stops a lot of people stepping out at all, but I am here on the other end and I have to say, from where I am standing, the view is a lot happier now – and our grass here, is already spectacularly green.

Thanks to everyone for your well-wishes and support as we start our new chapter.

I agree!! Thanks for being the best tenants … but I don’t really like that terminology… lets just call each other mates! Iam still on the lookout for some work for Cowboy, there IS pleanty of job opportunities around this place; its just to try to find the BEST one with a good boss! AND Yes …. Monte can go for as many rides on the tractor …. or the ATV … or even become Cowboys apprentice on the Ride On Mower if your dare! I have a apprentice greenkeeper that sits on my lap to ensure his turf is cut to perfection. So anytime you need to give Monte some fresh country farm air, feel free to grab the toys and take him for a whirl…. the grass is also green over the fence but the leaves look rather sad though!!!!

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
