While I am not big into the commercialness of Mothers Day, it is a timely reminder for me to be out and proud about the love I have for my Mum and also my Grandmum.
To beat the hype I am going to declare it today. Why join every other mug and do it tomorrow?
I have been fortunate the last few years of living in the same town as my Mum and Grandma, they have been Team Monte helping us raise Monte from newborn to happy, healthy toddler (today’s projectile vomiting aside)
I was sooooooooo happy to see them both today as they, and my Dad made the trip to our new OHT for a visit.
It felt as though an eternity had passed, though it has only been a few weeks since we last saw them. I had taken for granted that I could see them whenever I wanted, and I think our move away has been important in allowing me to really, truly realise how much they mean to me.
Oh it is a lot.
My Mum and Grandma have been an unlimited source of support to me and my family. In every sense. My family are a little dysfunctional on the emotional side, we don’t always know how to show our emotions,our appreciation or our love.
Well, not in the obvious sense of saying it.
They have always shown me in other ways, like ALWAYS being there, no matter what, even if I have carried on like a porkchop.
My Mum and Grandma are soooooooooooooooooooo special to me, sooo special, so I wanted to declare this to the world.
Mum and Grandma I love you both to the moon and back, thank-you for always being there for me, unconditionally. I was so excited to see you both today and to share our new town with you. I was so excited to offer you Italian biscottis and make you cups of tea. Little things are the biggest things.

They say you choose your parents. Well Mum (and Dad, but it ain’t your turn) I am SO glad I chose you, and stoked Mum, that you chose Grandma.
We have great taste in parents.

Am still reeling that these five incredible souls have chosen me. May I be a because of and not inspite of in their life’s journey and to the wonderful women who have gone before me and breathed life into my being, THANK YOU. May I be all that you were and are to mine.
