A year or so ago, you may remembering me writing about a mouse I found in the Laundry basket, while living in the OHT.
If I had seen then what I have seen now, I would have simply swished it away as if it were a fly.
One little mouse in the laundry, what i’d give to have your lone self back.
You see, since moving to our New One Horse Town in a great farmhouse surrounded by grapevines, we have become all too acquainted with these rodents.
Luckily, they seem to prefer our laundry to the rest of the house, but as our laundry also houses our toilet, I now require an entourage of security (ie- Cowboy) to chaperone me to the loo around the clock undertaking thorough checks before entering and standing guard whilst I attend to my duties.
To give you some idea of the quantity, with only 2 traps between dinner and bedtime (7pm-11pm) we caught 20 the other night. Once we even caught two in one trap.
I shudder to think about the 10 you apparently don’t see for every one you do.
While at the hairdressers the other day, I was told by my dresser that a rat plague is coming, the girl in the seat next to me said “Aren’t rats just grown up mice?”
Oh I laughed.
Incidentally when I left, my hair was no longer mousey brown.
I have to go as dinner beckons, but I wanted to grace you with a blogpost to let you know I’m still here, I’m just a little preoccupied fighting a war on terror in the laundry.

Time to get a few cats. I can lend you mine – he/ she (?) is a champion mouser. Doubt he’ll fit into an envelope though!
argh I hate mice! I remember when I was a kid there was a plague and anything that was worthkng hiding in or under was fair game! Lucky you have the cowboy to protect you! My husband works in pest control, shall I send him over? Good Luck!
I can relate although we’ve only had a couple actually inside the house – they’re more in the roof here. We do have 5 cats and a jack russell who all help out when they feel the need! We’ve just re-sowed 500ac of canola after thousands of mice had an absolute feast!
If only they were cute like the ones in your picture or Stuart Little?!
