About Me

My name is Sharni Montgomery.

Hello world, this is me

I live in a One Horse Town with a Cowboy and our Son.

Just kidding, it is actually a nice little town - heaps of horses, only a couple of tumbleweeds

I used to be  a Sydney gal partying my way from one saga to the next, my income was wasted on fashion, hair (still is), alcohol (not so much these days) and ludicrous rent.

Typical me any night of the week?

With a couple of pals…..

Partying at Pouting was the name of the game

Back in the city days I competed in a Dragon Boat race, choreographed a drag show, used the Share Accommodation advertisements as a way to meet men and was told by ‘Noiseworks ’front-runner Jon Stevens that I was a bitch!

Me and the laaadies

Then came the decision to move back to the country for 3 months to help out my Father with newspaper business while he was having treatment.

Convinced I was a city girl. I was caught by surprise when I fell in love with a farmer.

(and no, he didn’t want a wife… still doesn’t it seems!)

I convinced him that we needed to see the world, popped off to Vietnam to teach English in Saigon

Shut up. We had just arrived and the locals could smell tourist on us. They forced that hat on me and I had to pay for the priviledge

- before realising that the “food” in Nam didn’t agree with me…

Warning: Vietnamese food can have serious repercussions

turned out to be our son Monte! Who is now back with us living it up in rural New South Wales!!!

The Clan

These days I do less pouting, and more of these kinda things:

aaahhhh it doesn't get any more relaxing than this....

chillin' with my homie

I now work part-time for a newspaper and am pregnant with number 2.

I thought my happiness and identity relied on being ‘out there’ amongst it.

But that is the beautiful thing about the journey I have been on.

I have finally learnt – the grass is not greener on the other side.

It’s greener – where you water it.

Just look how green my grass is!

Love your new look, Sharni. It was worth the wait.
