Highlights of my career most recently:
Blog archived by the National Library of Australia and website launch make local newspaper:
Advertising Account Manager – Spectrum
Here I managed the advertising for Spectrum ensuring it met its weekly, monthly and yearly budgets. Made some fantastic contacts and thoroughly enjoyed working for what is still, my favorite section in the SMH.
Towards the end of my stint at the SMH I started pursuing writing and had two pieces published:
My first stemmed from a wacky idea I had to use the Share Accommodation ads as a way to meet men, it became the Cover Story
You can read my story here, along with the controversial comments that ensued.
I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to do my first interview with Australian Rock Icon – Jon Stevens.
You can read the story here
I was present at an Armed hold-up in Sydney some years back, and my bad habit of laughing when I shouldn’t inspired another story in the Sydney Morning Herald which you can read about here.
When I left Sydney for Hay, I worked for the Riverine Grazier as a journalist starting up a weekly double page feature called “The Good Life” where I interviewed locals, covered events of the town and created a light and fun read in the local newspaper.
I also sold the advertising in the feature, and throughout the paper.
After the Riverine Grazier I was to go abroad to teach.
I completed a course to become an English as a Second Language Teacher (ESL)
In 2009 I have been doing a diploma in Motherhood and rising to the most challenging job I have ever had!
On the side I have been doing some sporadic Public Relations work for Chris McClelland, an internationally recognised Wildlife Artist.
I am a “Country Correspondent” for Our Patch a fabulous website that put regional and rural Australia in the spotlight.
In August 2009 I started my blog The Chronicles of Sharnia, I have since been featured on the following sites: -
